Hi, my name’s Kara and I enjoy long, romantic walks along the beach Farmer’s Market.
Okay, so I’ve never had a dating profile (and never will), but if I did.. I’m pretty sure that’s what my intro would say. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about the beach too.. but living in Ohio means that the farmer’s market makes for a weeee more feasible of a date night – or date morning)
I’ll be honest – I didn’t discover the beauty of farmer’s markets until about 5 years ago (which is a real shame seeing as I grew up about 15 minutes from one of the best public markets in the country), but you better believe I’m making up for it now!
Kyle and I have recently made it a habit to start every Saturday morning with a visit to the local farmers market. And let me tell you, I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to start the weekend. Something about slowly strolling along the sidewalks, talking with the vendors, and sampling local goodies just makes my heart happy.
Luckily, I have some amazing blogger friends who happen to share my undying love for farmer’s markets. So today, we’ve teamed up to share seven different recipes that you can make with your farmer’s market finds! I hope you are at least half as excited about this as I am!
So without further ado, I present to you.. the Foodie Farmer’s Market Series.
Batting first in the lineup today: Cherry Caprese Pasta Salad.

When it comes to grocery shopping, I am definitely a planner. I feel alllll sorts of discombobulated when I walk into a grocery store without a list. But farmer’s markets are a different story. I rarely ever go to the farmer’s market with a specific list of items in mind – I find that half the fun is just walking up and seeing what catches my eye that week.
Last week, it was cherries. I mean, how could I say no to these beauts?!

Unfortunately, cherries have a pretty short growing season here in Ohio, but if you run out this weekend I have a feeling you can still snag some at your local farmer’s market! And when you do, promise me you’ll go home and make this Cherry Caprese Pasta Salad… stat.
I may or may not have eaten this meal for the past week straight. But can you blame me? This salad tastes like summer. Not to mention it is just so quick and easy to whip up.. which is pretty much a requirement for me these days.

This Cherry Caprese Pasta Salad would make the perfect addition to your next BBQ or summer party (which is pretty darn convenient considering I have a feeling a lot of those will be taking place this 4th of July weekend!) If you’re feeling super patriotic and festive, you could also toss in some fresh blackberries or blueberries for a fun red, white and blue dish!

Be sure to scroll down to the end of the post for the full recipe and check out all of the other incredible creations along the way. Just be sure you have a tissue nearby to clean up the drool off of your keyboard… you’re going to need it.
PS: If you make any of the recipes, be sure to use the hashtag #foodiefarmersmarket on social media so we can see all of your beautiful creations!
